Everything You Need to Know About Permanent Make-Up, Microblading & Medical Tattooing

Permanent make-up, microblading, micropigmentation, dermography and cosmetic tattooing are refined pigmentation techniques in which REACH-22 compliant pigments are implanted into the upper layer of the skin. Each treatment is performed using professional equipment, sterile disposable needles and in strict accordance with the hygiene regulations of the Federal Public Service of Public Health. The goal is always the same: to refine your appearance in a natural way, with full respect for both safety and aesthetics.

Why Choose Permanent Make-Up?

Permanent make-up provides long-lasting aesthetic enhancement of the eyebrows, lips or eyes. You save time, your make-up never smudges, and minor asymmetries or imperfections are subtly corrected. A natural, timeless result is always the priority.

Why Does PMU Sometimes Change Colour?

Over time, pigment can shift due to sun exposure, hormonal changes, medication, chemotherapy, improper aftercare, skin reactions or the use of low-quality pigments. In many cases, both shape and colour can be corrected professionally.

Proper Preparation remains Essential

Not every skin type and not every previous PMU can be corrected. Inexperienced work often leads to scarring, pigment placed too deeply and permanent skin damage. That is why a consultation is always mandatory and essential. I analyse your skin, undertone, pigment type and expectations so that you know exactly what is possible.

Benefits of PMU & Microblading

• waterproof and smudge-proof
• ideal for sports, sauna and busy mornings
• perfect for contact lens wearers, allergies or hand tremors
• hyper-realistic eyebrows with microblading
• subtle lip colour, fuller appearance and correction of asymmetry
• camouflage of scars or pigment loss
• saves daily time
• suitable for alopecia, trichotillomania and motor impairments

Disadvantages

• a colour refresh is needed after 1–2 years (normal process)
• unprofessional work is difficult to remove
• sun and tanning beds accelerate fading

Indications

• you want waterproof make-up
• you cannot or do not wish to draw make-up
• motor or visual issues prevent steady application
• you suffer from alopecia or hair loss
• you are allergic to conventional make-up
• you want to save time and look well-groomed every day
• you have realistic expectations

Contraindications

Pregnancy, active herpes, certain forms of diabetes, specific medication and unrealistic expectations may exclude treatment. This is always discussed during consultation.

Cold Sores / Herpes Simplex

Herpes can flare up after a PMU treatment. Tingling, blisters or scabs indicate a contagious phase. If you are prone to cold sores, it is recommended to use an antiviral cream 7–10 days prior to treatment.

Is the Treatment Painful?

Pain perception varies from person to person. You will feel tingling sensations, but with approved numbing products it is generally well tolerated. Fatigue, stress or menstruation may increase sensitivity.

Treatment Duration

A PMU treatment lasts on average 1.5 to 2 hours. Microblading takes slightly longer due to the detail work involved.

Healing & Aftercare

Mild swelling or redness may occur after treatment. Small flakes or scabs disappear naturally within 3–7 days. Important: do not scratch, no mascara, no water, no sauna or swimming pool. You will receive clear aftercare instructions. A follow-up session after 4 weeks is included in the price.

Longevity

Expect approximately 2 years, depending on skin type, medication, sun exposure, hormonal changes and aftercare.
