Eyeliner or accentuating the lash line: Choose what suits you
A permanent eyeliner makes your eyes speak. A fine eyeliner is tattooed. Permanent makeup is a form of tattoo.
Eyeliner and/or kajal in permanent makeup adds more expression to your eyes.
- Eyes appear optically larger with a fine line above and/or below.
- No more smudging makeup at the eyes.
- Eyes get a fuller look.
- Worry-free in the sauna or during sports.
- No more stress in front of the mirror.
Permanent makeup that intensifies the lashes gives an accent to the lash line, resulting in a fuller look on the upper and/or lower lash line. Intensifying the lashes, also known as lashliner, is a pigmentation technique. Lashes are accentuated and have an intense, full look.
An accent lash line or lash intensification is:
- No eyelash extensions
- No silk lashes
- No mascara
- No eyelash implants
- No eyeliner
This technique involves applying pigment to the lash line. Lash intensification is ideal for:
- People who don’t want eyeliner or kajal
- Men
- People with blonde lashes
- People with no or very few lashes
- Those with alopecia on their lashes
- When eyeliner or kajal doesn’t fit your eye makeup
The result is very subtle and lasts about one year. If you're unsure, I'm happy to help you make the right choice during a consultation.
Upper Eyelid Eyeliner
A pencil is used to draw the upper eyeliner along the movable eyelid's lash line. The goal is to give the eyes more expression and dimension. The darker and thicker the lines, the more dramatic your eyes will appear. So be cautious! Not all desires can be filled (permanently and aesthetically). A thick eyeliner may not suit everyone. Experience, artistic insight, and a sense of aesthetics are crucial here.
Lower Eyelid Eyeliner
The thickness of the eyeliner is chosen based on your eye morphology, your preferences, and your makeup or drawing habits, in consultation with Joëlle Senden. You can choose between a fine to normal thickness along the lower lash line. However, everything must look aesthetically pleasing in the long run.
Arabic Eyeliner
Arab women from the Middle East, particularly from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, often come to Joëlle Senden for permanent makeup. They have a unique style of permanent makeup that fits into their cultural identity as women.
If you want Arabic eyeliner or a Bambi-eye look (also known as yeux de biche), a consultation is essential. Not every woman can wear Arabic eyeliner. Your eye morphology is key in determining the eyeliner type. Of course, I will design the eyeliner that suits your personality.
Things to keep in mind:
Subtle, understated permanent makeup for the eyes makes you shine. A wide, dark eyeliner can change or spoil your facial expression. The message here is to remain yourself and enhance your natural beauty. I don't follow makeup trends or fads. Because of this, you'll never get tired of your permanent makeup. I stay conservative with shape and color, ensuring you have suitable permanent makeup for the long-term.

Aftercare for Permanent Makeup Eyeliner:
The aftercare for permanent eye makeup is quite manageable. After the treatment, your eyes will be slightly swollen and a little red. You’ll look perfectly presentable and can go home.
During healing, small flakes or scabs will form on the tattoo. They are not very noticeable. They usually last about 7 days and will fall off on their own.
As long as these flakes or scabs are present, you are susceptible to infections. Therefore, follow these important instructions:
- No mascara, no eyeshadow.
- Dab healing ointment with a cotton swab.
- Do not rub.
- Do not wash with water or anything else.
- Do not pick at the flakes or scabs.
- No water sports or sauna.
- Avoid moisture or heat.
